Privacy Policy

Effective August 25, 2026. This policy describes our practices. It is not personalized legal advice.

Brandry (“we,” “us”) is the shopping-list service at BrandryApp.com. We designed this policy to be conservative: we collect little, we do not sell personal information, and we process data only to run the product you asked for.

Who this covers

This policy applies to visitors, accounts, household members you invite, and anyone who sends commands to Brandry (including by voice or API) using your credentials. If you invite someone into a household, you are asking us to show them that household’s lists and brand preferences. Do not invite people who should not see that information.

What we collect

Depending on how you use Brandry, we may process:

  • Account data from our authentication provider (Clerk), such as name, email address, user id, organization/household membership, and sign-in method (email, Google, or Apple).
  • List content you enter: item names, quantities, notes, check-off state, and brand likes, skips, and try-next choices, all scoped to your household.
  • Commands you send through the website, iOS/Siri, or the command API, including spoken phrases we parse into list actions.
  • Technical logs needed to operate and secure the service (IP address, user agent, timestamps, error traces, and rate-limit counters).
  • Payment data only if we later charge for the service, in which case a payment processor—not Brandry—would store card numbers.

We do not scrape grocery stores. We do not buy marketing lists. We do not require precise device location.

How we use information

We use information solely to:

  • Provide, maintain, secure, and debug the service
  • Authenticate you and enforce household isolation
  • Send transactional messages (sign-in codes, family invites, security notices)
  • Comply with law, prevent abuse, and protect our rights

We do not use your lists or brand preferences to train public AI models, to advertise to third parties, or to build a dossier for sale.

We do not sell or share for ads

We do not sell personal information. We do not “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are used in US state privacy laws. We do not use Google Analytics or similar advertising pixels onBrandry.

Processors we use

We use vendors who process data on our instructions to run Brandry:

  • Clerk — accounts, sessions, organizations/households, and optional Google or Apple sign-in
  • Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, content delivery, and the database that stores household lists
  • Google and/or Apple — only if you choose to sign in with them. Their own privacy policies apply to that sign-in.

Those vendors may process data in the United States or other countries where they operate. If you use Brandry from outside the US, you instruct us to transfer your information to the US to provide the service.

Households and voice

Household members see the same lists and brand memory. Voice or API commands authenticated as you (or as a household member) can add, check off, or change preferences. We are not responsible for what a person you invited does with that access. Revoke membership if you no longer trust them.

Retention and deletion

We keep account and list data while your account is open. You may delete items or your account. After deletion we remove household data we no longer need, except copies we must keep for security, backups, dispute resolution, or law (typically a short period). Rate-limit and server logs are kept only as long as needed to operate the service.

Your choices

You may access or update profile data in your account, delete list content, leave a household, or ask us to delete your account by emailing jeremytlee@gmail.com. If a privacy law gives you additional rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or appeal), email that address. We will not discriminate against you for exercising those rights. We may need to verify you control the account before fulfilling a request.

US state privacy notices

If you live in California or another US state with a consumer privacy statute, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define those terms, so there is no sale or sharing opt-out to process. Email us to exercise other rights. We will not discriminate against you for doing so. We may decline requests we cannot verify or that the law allows us to refuse.

Children

Brandry is for people 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have, we will delete it. Parents who believe a child created an account should email us.

Security

We use industry-standard hosting, encryption in transit, household-scoped queries, and authentication. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. You are responsible for your password, session, and who you invite.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Effective” date above will change. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy. Material changes will be posted on this page.
